Hot New Delivery Option

You ask for a better deal, we listen

Before we get into our normal newsletter, I wanted to let you all know about a change to our delivery charges. A number of people have commented that delivery charges can add up and make the decision whether to buy or not that much harder. We used to have an option where anybody spent over £100 on our blocks could get free delivery, but we now offer you an improved deal. We have now decided that you just have to buy three of our lovely products and you will be entitled to free delivery anywhere in the world. This can be three of the same product or three different products. So if you have a block you particularly like, and perhaps one other you were keen on as well, just pick out a third and they will all be delivered at no charge. I am sure you will agree that is an excellent deal and I hope you all choose to take us up on it. I am not sure how long we will be running the deal though, so get your orders in quick!

The Best Fabric Paint

Fabric paints for block printing
Fabric paints for block printing

Looking for the perfect fabric paint – here it is. We love this professional grade paint as it is so easy to fix – simply iron the fabric both sides and your fabric can then be washed up to 40 degrees. We have just received a huge delivery of paint with a wonderful selection of colours. We love that there is a long shelf life (not that they stay on the shelf that long!). Also the paint comes in soft easy to squeeze bottles which means easy access. You can block print beautifully with these paints, but they are also wonderful for hand painting fabrics, stencilling and all fabric projects that you want to colour yourself. Beware though, once you have experienced the joy of this wonderful paint, you will be spoilt for ever!

Indian Textiles Beckons!

Spend some wonderful time with us in India

luxury-holiday-India-colouricious-creative-holidays

We have some wonderful trips organised to India later this year and we would for you to join us. Our holidays and tours are always very popular and the people who join us come away with some amazing friendships and memories that will last a life time.

The beauty of these trips is that they are with like minded people who are all passionate about crafting and everything day is designed to ensure you get to see lots of different textile techniques and ideas, all undertaken by villagers and people who have been taught by their mothers and family friends through the ages. A number of these arts and crafts are ancient skills that are only continued by certain tribes and villages and as such, you will only get a chance to see this if you come along with us.

Come with us – we have places! We are going to tour Rajasthan in November and on this tour amongst many trips organised for the 14 days, we will be seeing villagers practising the craft of Bandani Tie & Dye. This type of Tie & Dye originated in SE Asia and spread across India to cover large parts of Rajasthan. The craft is extremely historical and each design carries messages based upon the style and colours that are used. You can watch a video here relating to Bandani Tie & Dye.

If this has whetted your appetite for a trip to Rajasthan, then please come over to our website and you can read more about this years schedule and reserve your place, you will not be disappointed!

Shisha Embroidery Sparkles

Shisha Embroidery Sparkles

Put some Shisha Mirrors on your next project

Shisha Embroidery

Shisha Mirrors are tiny pieces of mirror used to adorn and embellishment your embroidery projects. You often see them on Indian and Asian products as the word Shisha comes from the Persian word Shisheh which means mirror work. The mirrors reflect the light and give your craft project an extra dimension and really makes them stand out.

We have a excellent video on how to incorporate Shisha mirrors into your next embroidiery project, so click on the video below to watch it.

If the idea of giving Shisha Mirrors is tempting, then we have the perfect answer. We have some bags of Shisha mirrors on our website that you can use on your next embroidery project.
